So much goodness in the next few months….
Oh, and yeah, I do realise the irony in me Tumbleblogging all this shit after my post yesterday about not posting very much when I am happy. I kinda Lol’d when I remembered that today following the 94 photographs I posted last night.
Whatever.
There are so many awesome things to look forward to between now and the end of the summer.
Firstly, there is Mika at the end of this month. Ordinarily that wouldn’t be a good thing. It’s Mika. But it will be fun, and now that Katie and I have been to our first gig together I think this will be even better. Because there’s no way that Mika can be any more offensive to the ears than These New Puritans. I still don’t know who they are.
Then there is maybe Rufus Wainwright live in April. I still don’t know. But there is definitely KISS and Neal Casal in May and Gaslight Anthem in June.
And then it is festival time. This is getting pretty exciting. Isle of Wight already has The Strokes headlining on Saturday in addition to Vampire Weekend, Biffy Clyro, The Hold Steady, Crowded House, Paloma Faith, Blondie (lol), James, Doves and loads of other musical shit. The following month we have T in the Park which is just going to be an oustanding weekend, regardless of who is playing. Even if it is Kasabian. Oh God. But that might be negated if the Green Day rumours are true.
There’s something after T in the Park, but I can’t mention it at the moment because it is a surprise which can’t be revealed until…..oooooooh, I dunno, Sunday.
Live music aside it would appear that all of my favourite artists are announcing new albums. Jesse Malin is releasing in April. Josh Ritter not long after that. The Strokes have confirmed that they are putting out a new album this year and Gaslight Anthem are touring in the summer to coincide with the release of their new album. All we need now is for Ryan Adams to break free from his chains and release something fucking awesome and everything would be perfect =]
