Once you pop…
One of the recurring themes through Coffee and Cigarettes is the unhealthy nature of a lunch consisting of the abforementioned vices. It’s what attracted me to the film when I recognised its title billowing from the shelf like an exhaled cloud of smoke. As is often said in the film, nothing goes better than coffee and cigarettes.
However, something almost goes better than coffee and cigarettes: Budweiser and Pringles. I sat in comfortable anticipation last night with the fridge stocked with a trifecta of beers and a large carton of original Pringles. I figured that would be enough to see me through the hour and 23 minutes duration of the DVD. Thirty minutes in and I was on my second Bud with not so much as a crumb left in the Pringles tub.
Those things are incredibly dangerous once opened.
